Baby Food Jar Uses

  • Candle holder - cover outside with an old greeting card, tissue paper, glitter, or translucent paint
  • Crafts organizer - use for holding small items, like grommets, letters, tags, stickers, etc. Can even be mounted onto a board (screw lids into a shelf)
  • Recipe ingredients holder (for gift) - Write instructions on a card and attach to jar. Add necessary ingredients to inside of jar. Great for hot chocolate, tea, soup, or cookies.
  • Snow globe - Use egg shells for the snow, and seal the lid to the jar with clay. Props inside can be little toys (those store machine trinkets would work great here).
  • Candy container - Decorate according to a holiday. Fill with jelly beans, peppermints, nuts, etc.
  • Paper weight - Fill with colored sand or other loose material (nuts for a carpenter's desk, for example).
  • Flower garden - Start some flowers / herbs / vegetables in jars and give to mom or dad for Mother's Day / Father's Day.

Baby Shower Idea

One thing I am planning to do for the baby showers:

-With paper pieces and pens provided, have guests write notes of advice, predictions, or otherwise to the baby (paper will match color scheme of baby's room)
-Roll pieces of paper up
-Collect paper into jar or shadow box to display in baby's room

As soon as I get this put together, I will post a photo!

Outdoor Winter Activities

Just a few ideas -- things that we've done and things we want to do!
