Ways to Reuse Plastic Shopping Bags!

These are some ideas that I've found here and there -- not many are original to me, but I do a lot of these things!

I had a friend make a shower curtain with them even:
  • Trash bags
    • In the car
    • Backpacking/Campin
    • For diaper
    • While on a wal
  • Trash can liners
  • Doggy duty
  • Toiletry bag
  • Kitty litter liner
  • Lunch bag
  • Stuffing/Filling for shipping items
  • Dirty shoes
  • Barf Bags
  • Decorations/Ornaments packing and storage
  • Suitcase sidekicks – stow a few for wet/dirty clothes
  • Catch-alls for wet pool/beach items until you get home
  • Collecting compost items near sink
  • Organizing fridge/drawer items
  • Inside boots to stay dry
  • Take back to the grocery store and reuse
  • Drop off at bag recycling locations
    • Grocery stores
    • Day care centers
    • Pet parks
    • Animal shelters
  • Crochet bags into beach bags or door mats (http://instructables.com/ or http://needlepointers.com/)
  • Cleaning pet cages
  • Ice packs
  • Cut and use for protecting surfaces during craft projects

Baby Food Jar Uses

  • Candle holder - cover outside with an old greeting card, tissue paper, glitter, or translucent paint
  • Crafts organizer - use for holding small items, like grommets, letters, tags, stickers, etc. Can even be mounted onto a board (screw lids into a shelf)
  • Recipe ingredients holder (for gift) - Write instructions on a card and attach to jar. Add necessary ingredients to inside of jar. Great for hot chocolate, tea, soup, or cookies.
  • Snow globe - Use egg shells for the snow, and seal the lid to the jar with clay. Props inside can be little toys (those store machine trinkets would work great here).
  • Candy container - Decorate according to a holiday. Fill with jelly beans, peppermints, nuts, etc.
  • Paper weight - Fill with colored sand or other loose material (nuts for a carpenter's desk, for example).
  • Flower garden - Start some flowers / herbs / vegetables in jars and give to mom or dad for Mother's Day / Father's Day.
