Dog Birthdays

One thing that my stepdaughter loves to do is celebrate milestones in our animals' lives. Polly, the younger and female pug, celebrated her first birthday in June. We had a cake, bought and wrapped some gifts, and even sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

Dill, the older and male pug, celebrated his third birthday in November. We helped him. He even got to sit at the table and eat his cake!

Baby Shower Idea

One thing I am planning to do for the baby showers:

-With paper pieces and pens provided, have guests write notes of advice, predictions, or otherwise to the baby (paper will match color scheme of baby's room)
-Roll pieces of paper up
-Collect paper into jar or shadow box to display in baby's room

As soon as I get this put together, I will post a photo!

Outdoor Winter Activities

Just a few ideas -- things that we've done and things we want to do!

-Go sledding
-Build a fort
-Make snow angels
-Have a snowball fight
-Make ice sculptures (with sandbox toys)
-Make pine cone bird feeders
-Go ice-skating
-Find animal tracks in the snow
-Take pictures of snow-covered land and icy trees
-Build a snow tunnel
-Find the biggest icicle
-Build a snowman / snowfamily
-Go skiing / snowboarding

Greetings!

About 6 months ago, I decided that I was going to start writing. My first story was about my relationship with my husband . . . it was a funny account of how our lives, while very dissimilar, have melded into what is now our reality.

About 3 months ago, I found out that after having waited for more than several years, we were to have a baby. This changed everything.

So, today I've decided that I will start my writing experiences here, in this blog, and I will try to discuss what we do as a family, and how the kids (and the husband) keep mom busy.
